I'm on Facebook!

Hi everyone! Good news. I've recently launched my Facebook page. I'm excited to share with you the details of what you can expect to see on my newest social platform.

Facebook is special because it's a place where writers can go to post amazing content and gather new followers. But that's only a fraction of what content writers can do on Facebook. Read on to learn what's unique about my Facebook page and how it compares to my X profile.

Why I joined Facebook

Facebook offers me opportunities as a content creator that I might not have on my other social media profiles. Many of these benefits I'm still discovering and will reveal them in my content over time. Other advantages are more readily available and you'll see them on my page right away,

Long-form content

With my Facebook page, I can explore long-form content which will help me when I'm publishing statements on trending topics. Long-form content will help me go into more depth about an article or provide background information for personal stories. With long-form content, I can keep reader's eyes on my work longer, which will give me more time to impress them with my writing. Expect to see quality long-form content on my Facebook page that may entice you to want to click on my stories.

Here''s some examples of long-form content you'll see:

  • Statements on topics in the news
  • Extended support messages
  • Summaries of data and research
  • Background information for essays, memoirs, and features
  • Personal stories that don't work as essays

And more.

I'm especially interested in gaining feedback on my long-form content. If you see a post you like, please comment on it. This will help me deliver the kind of content readers are looking for.

Polls, quizzes, and questions

Online research is often limited and doesn't contain the kind of insights I can find from users directly. With polls, I can gather information about reader's preferences, beliefs, and opinions which will help me create great content tailored to that information. Quizzes are a fun, interactive way to engage my readers, test their knowledge, and encourage them to read more about what they don't know. Finally, at times I may post thoughtful questions (with some design elements) to collect information in the comments section of my posts.

I'm always looking for ways to better connect with readers and clients, and polls, quizzes, and questions help me do just that.

Photos and Videos

Soon, I'll have the resources to include personalized photography on my site. That is, images of me, photography from my environment, and pictures that I take while in the course of my writing work. I'll also be recording videos later  and posting them directly on Facebook, apart from YouTube. Expect to see improved photography, illustrations, and videos in the coming months, as well as all the creative pursuits I can follow with these images.

Please note that I don't always choose to brand my images. Sometimes, readers prefer to share content without branding. I'll consider this on a post-by-post basis.

What's the difference between my X profile and Facebook page?

While consistency is important, I want to highlight the key differences between my X profile and Facebook page. My X profile is all about short snippets of information, bite-sized support messages, and frequent but simpler use of imagery. My X posts are as bold as my Facebook posts but are meant to be consumed repeatedly throughout the day, as opposed to Facebook, where I'm hoping to capture people's attention with more engaging posts.

On both platforms, I'm posting on mental health and wellness, but on X my posts are snappier and quicker to consume, while my Facebook posts will keep reader's attention a bit longer. In any event, you can expect to see similar types of content on both of my platforms with length and depth being the main differentiating factor.

Like me on Facebook

If you're looking for valuable, researched, in-depth storytelling and analysis, you can find great posts on psychology, self-improvement, and behavioral health on my page. I'm always looking for new followers and as a newbie, haven't yet picked up a significant number. If you could, like me on Facebook to get the latest mental health information and stories, and follow me on X if you haven't to gain a glimpse of what's inside my head.

Happy reading, everyone!
